Terms of Use
Last updated October 30, 2026
Agreement
By downloading or using Splat Lab you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/), which applies to the app together with these terms. If the two differ, these terms add to the standard EULA without reducing your rights under it.
What Splat Lab is
Splat Lab lets you film a room with your iPhone, train a 3D Gaussian splat of it on your iPhone, on your own Mac (with the companion Splat Lab Station) or on your own Kaggle account, walk inside it in first person, and export it as SPZ, PLY or OBJ.
Splat Lab is published by Tahar Amin. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or approved by Apple or Kaggle. iPhone and Mac are trademarks of Apple Inc.; Kaggle is a trademark of Google LLC.
Results
The quality of a splat depends on how the scene was filmed, the light, the room and where it was trained. Reconstructions can be incomplete, blurry or inaccurate, and the collision mesh is an approximation. Do not use Splat Lab for measurements, safety or professional surveying.
Your Kaggle account
If you train on Kaggle, you do so with your own Kaggle account and token, under Kaggle's terms (https://www.kaggle.com/terms). You are responsible for your account, its quotas and what you upload to it. Splat Lab only acts on your behalf with the token you provide; Kaggle's availability, limits and changes are outside our control, and a training may fail or be interrupted.
Your content
Your captures, splats and exports are yours, and stay on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for your own backups and for having the right to film and share what you capture, including people and private places.
Free app, tips and monthly support
Splat Lab is free. No feature depends on a payment.
You can leave an optional tip through an in-app purchase. A tip is a gift: it unlocks nothing and gives no right to any feature, level of support or future version. It is processed and billed by Apple; refunds are handled by Apple under its rules (reportaproblem.apple.com), without prejudice to your mandatory rights.
You can also support Splat Lab every month with the "Un café par mois" auto-renewing subscription. Its only extras are cosmetic (supporter app icons and a badge in Settings); every feature stays free for everyone. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe. It renews automatically each month until you cancel; cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your App Store account settings. Billing, renewals and refunds are handled by Apple. Apple's standard licensed application end user license agreement also applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
Licence and acceptable use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Splat Lab on Apple devices you own or control, within the App Store rules. Do not copy, resell, reverse engineer or misuse the app, and do not use it to film people or places in breach of the law.
Limitation of liability
Splat Lab is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of data or captures, Kaggle quota or account issues, or decisions taken from a reconstruction, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim before the courts of that country.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Questions: amin2020e@gmail.com.
